Have no anxiety about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God which passes all understanding, will keep your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

 Philippians 4 v 6-7

St. Thomas's Choir

St. Thomas's has a flourishing choir.

Under the leadership of our Musical Director Dr. (Bev) Bowles-Bevan, who has a life-long career in music,  the choir adds a wonderful spiritual dimension to our worship.

We were joined in April 2007 by Michael Mappin (picture to follow) a local teacher, extremely talented musician and former Classic FM presenter who has 'uncovered' the voices of our Walker organ and breathes musical life into our worship.

The three-manual Walker church organ was partially restored by Noterman and Sons as part of the church renovation programme in 1999/2000. More serious restoration work is now needed with a projected cost of over £100,000. More details about this will follow soon.

The choir which has a wide-ranging repertoire extending from 'traditional' works through to contemporary settings arranged by Bev, and ensures that the music used complements the setting of the service and the changes in church 'seasons'.

We are always looking for more voices to join us (particularly male voices).

Choir practices are held every Friday at 7:00pm in church, if you would like to join us, then please call 020 8567 4793 for details.
