Have no anxiety about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God which passes all understanding, will keep your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4 v 6-7 |
St. Thomas's has a thriving congregation with a wide range of ages from children, through families young and old, to those who remember the 'new' St. Thomas's opening in 1934. All are welcome and, we hope, made to feel part of the church family as we join together in praising His name. If a church Electoral Roll is any measure, we now have almost 200 people as members of our church with growing Sunday attendances. We have a thriving Junior Church (Sunday School) in classes from ages 3-11 and strong Christian links with our Youth Organisations. Time to introduce ourselves: Vicar A journalist prior to his ordination in 1973, Peter has been at St. Thomas's since July 1985, moving to Hanwell from St. Oswald's in Chapel Green, Bradford. Married to Hilary they have six children. Peter has seen congregations at St. Thomas's more than double since he arrived. Often to be seen tinkering with the family car or in a boiler suit repairing something or other around the church. Peter is also an avid bee-keeper.
