Have no anxiety about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God which passes all understanding, will keep your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

 Philippians 4 v 6-7

About Us

St. Thomas's has a thriving congregation with a wide range of ages from children, through families young and old, to those who remember the 'new' St. Thomas's opening in 1934. All are welcome and, we hope, made to feel part of the church family as we join together in praising His name.

If a church Electoral Roll is any measure, we now have almost 200 people as members of our church with growing Sunday attendances.

We have a thriving Junior Church (Sunday School) in classes from ages 3-11 and strong Christian links with our Youth Organisations.

Time to introduce ourselves:

Vicar

Reverend Peter Andrews

A journalist prior to his ordination in 1973, Peter has been at St. Thomas's since July 1985, moving to Hanwell from St. Oswald's in Chapel Green, Bradford.

Married to Hilary they have six children. Peter has seen congregations at St. Thomas's more than double since he arrived. Often to be seen tinkering with the family car or in a boiler suit repairing something or other around the church. Peter is also an avid bee-keeper.

Churchwardens

David Jewell

David has lived in the parish (almost) all his life. David's availability for seemingly every service and church event leads to some of the children thinking that we keep him locked in a cupboard in the vestry!

Jill Ashcroft

Jill was elected at the Vestry Meeting in April 2007 and was admitted to office in May 2007. This is her second year as one of St. Thomas's wardens.

Jill is also joint editor of our parish magazine 'The Trident'
